Hello!

I’m Ed – a friendly and experienced music teacher offering piano and music theory lessons in Sussex.

I currently reside in the beautiful and creative city of Brighton. Over the last 12 years, I have conducted piano lessons privately, at the Sussex Academy of Music and on behalf of Piano Lessons UK. In some cases my pupils have gone on to study at prestigious music colleges, including Chetham’s School of Music and Trinity College London.

In addition to teaching I am an active performer. I have released multiple records with my band, Phoria, and have toured across the UK, USA and Europe. I’m also an experienced session musician, touring and recording with all kinds of different musical projects.

I enjoy teaching a wide variety of music styles from baroque to rock 'n' roll, and individually tailor each lesson according to your skill and ability - whether you’re taking your first steps into music, or an experienced musician brushing up for an exam or performance.

I specialise in preparing pupils for graded performances, including the very popular ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses. I also specialise in teaching musical theory, ranging from teaching the basics of music notation to theory exams and A-Level Music support.

I am a keen transcriber and arranger of music which is a passion that transposes itself into my lessons.
