I’m Ed – a friendly and experienced musician, offering piano and music theory lessons in Sussex. I am also an arranger/transcriber and offer remote piano recordings for clients.

PIANO TEACHER

​

Over the last 15 years, I have conducted piano lessons privately, at the Sussex Academy of Music and on behalf of Piano Lessons UK. In some cases my pupils have gone on to study at prestigious music colleges, including Chetham’s School of Music and Trinity College London.​

​

I enjoy teaching a wide variety of music styles from Baroque to Rock 'n' Roll, and individually tailor each lesson according to your skill and ability - whether you’re taking your first steps into music, or you are an experienced musician brushing up for an exam or performance.

 

I specialise in preparing pupils for graded performances, including the very popular ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses. I also specialise in teaching musical theory, ranging from teaching the basics of music notation to theory exams and GCSE/A-Level Music support.

PERFORMER

 

In addition to teaching I am an active performer. Over the last 15 years, I have released multiple records with my band, Phoria, and have toured extensively across the UK, USA and Europe. I’m also an experienced session musician, having toured and recorded with all kinds of different musical projects.

TRANSCRIBER/ARRANGER

​

I offer musical transcription and arrangement services, both for private clients and companies. As a teacher and performer, I have found it necessary to write my own transcriptions of music that isn't published or isn't at the level that my pupils require. I am now lucky enough to work with the esteemed Faber Music, helping to transcribe new works for their publications.

REMOTE PIANO RECORDINGS

In my current studio I have a lovely and characterful upright piano. My many years as a performer and studio artist have led me to the logical conclusion that I should now offer remote piano recording sessions to any client that needs their keyboard/piano tracks brought to life on a real instrument. I offer an extremely quick turn around at affordable rates.
